Xavernah is the atmospheric metal project of songwriter and drummer Ramón Roest.
Recorded with members from Epistulum, Signs of Extinction, Blackbriar and ex-Black Rabbit, the debut album ‘Absence’ is an inward, musical and lyrical exploration inspired by writers from the 19th and early 20th century creating a dark, melancholic atmosphere displaying a sense of desolation, dread and nihilism.
Blending black metal and doom metal with hints of death metal, ambient, lo-fi and dark jazz, this record traverses insurmountable feelings of emptiness, purposelessness and loss. ‘Absence’ is about accepting that, alas, in the grand scheme of the universe nothing matters as there is only nothingness.
