KORYPHEUS NEW MUSIC VIDEO “SLEEPER” ONLINE TODAY Ukrainian Progressive Metal Band Team with Laura Guldemond (Burning Witches)
Progressive modern metal force KORYPHEUS have released the official music video for “Sleeper,” the latest emphasis track from the group’s new album, and M-Theory Audio debut, ‘Gilgamesh.’ The song features a powerful guest performance from Laura Guldemond, vocalist of Burning Witches, adding an electrifying new dimension to the band’s cinematic sound.
The video for “Sleeper,” premiered today on the label’s official YouTube channel

“’Sleeper’ is based on the myth about the king sleeping under the hill. It could be Charlemagne, Arthur, Friedrich Barbarossa. The hero awakens and speaks to a random passerby, asking him, ‘Are the eagles (or crows) still circling above the mountaintop?’ The passerby (or mysterious voice) answers in the affirmative, and the hero then drives him away - ‘Go away! My time has not yet come.’
Korypheus uses this folkloric plot as a starting point for reflection on the illusory nature, fragility of life and the mysteries of sleep. Sensual yet powerful voice of Laura Guldemond adds extra dimension to the story and imaginary dialog.”
KORYPHEUS blend intricate riffs with epic melodies on ‘Gilgamesh,’ a concept album that tells tales of times bygone and present. Mixed by Jinjer’s Dmitry Kim (who also plays drums on the album) and mastered by Jay Ruston (Amon Amarth, Anthrax, Stone Sour), ‘Gilgamesh’ sounds massive and current. The album, released Sept. 26th, features additional contributions throughout from members of Orphaned Land, Soen and Burning Witches.
Already garnering praise from established and diverse artists like Haken, Deep Purple, Enterprise Earth and Caligula’s Horse who have all shared personal endorsements continuing to solidify KORYPHEUS as one of Eastern Europe’s most visionary heavy music acts.
Packaged in classic Viktor Safonkin artwork (Killing Joke) you can stream/download the album on your favorite platform or purchase a jewelcase CD or limited-edition (300) solar wrath colored vinyl with insert and digital download code HERE

"Gilgamesh" is a tremendous discovery within the metal world – Metallerium
Korypheus offers an interesting and relatively new blend of traditional and contemporary Progressive Metal, even Djent and Groove Death Metal. The compositions on the album combine massive riffs, luminous solos, and complex rhythms with a wide range of vocals, ranging from melodic male and (occasionally) female vocals to hardcore screams and the deepest death metal growls. The album combines instrumental technique, moments of pure musical rage, and highly catchy melodic passages in a style that will undoubtedly appeal as much to fans of Leprous, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Devin Townsend as it will to those of Gojira, Meshuggah, and Mastodon. –Music In Belgium
To fans of prog metal we strongly recommend the latest publishing house of the Ukrainian group  - Kvlt

“Their sound? Think a monstrous blend of Ne Obliviscaris, Ihsahn, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah, and a slug of Gojira for good (loud) measure.” – Metal Anvil

Magazine
“The album blends progressive “djenty” guitar prog seen in acts like Jinjer and Gojira, with a dual vocal soft/harsh mix that gives listeners a strong prog-death experience. Overall, I think it’s a fun album that should tickle the prog nerves for fans of the genre. There’s plenty of musical power as well as extreme metal grit to get the blood pumping.” – Metal Epidemic
