Interview with Beer Beer Orchestra
After a long time, this group will appear in the Czech Republic again. So let's interview the band a little.
Alan – Hello, who will answer the questions?
Albeer - Hello Alan, thanks for the questions. I am Albeer, an original member of BeerBeer. I am the lead singer, trumpeter, I write and compose everything for the band.
Alan – When was the band formed? And have you been in the same line-up from the very beginning? Who put the band together?
Albeer - We founded the band in 2005, 21 years ago. We were friends who met at punk and ska concerts in our area. This line-up has been the same for 10 years, we are two original members from 2005. We live in France, in southern Brittany, in the west, only 100 km from the Atlantic. When we go to the Czech Republic, it takes us 14 hours to travel!
Alan – What / who do you draw from? Who was the role model for your work? And why did you start playing this version of ska punk?
Albeer - The two original members at the beginning were a trumpeter and a saxophonist. So we are inspired by all the musical genres that have a brass section, with inspiration from wind instruments... We grew up during the big wave of energetic ska punk in France in the 90s. We will always remember this energy and rhythm. And we will never forget the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity with the people in this DIY movement.
Alan - How many times have you been to concerts in Bohemia and Moravia? Where was it? And who gave you concerts? Petr Růžička? The guys from the band Cheers?
Albeer - As for our concerts in the Czech Republic, I can't tell you how many times we've been there... I think our first visit was in 2009. The reggae band The Spankers helped us to play in Prague. That was the first time. Then we returned with the help of Petr R. to another place in Prague. Petr helped us come back to you many times. We enjoy Czech fans. Great audience, open-minded people. We have friends in Prague, also in Pilsen, Brno, Stříbr, Ústí nad Labem, people are always happy to see us again. During the holidays I go to Prague, to the old town center 2 or 3 times.
Alan – How many shows will you play this year 2026 and where in Bohemia by the end of the year?
Albeer - We already have two concerts scheduled for the beginning of 2026. Great places in Klatovy and Litvínov. With our great friends from the band Pirates of the Pub.
Alan – Is Slovakia avoiding you so far?
Albeer - So far BeerBeer has never played in Slovakia. We don't avoid it, but in the past I played in Slovakia as a member of Skarface, I remember a punk festival in Piešťany and a good place in Košice. We met the famous Polish oi band Horrorshow.
Alan – What about Poland, they play pretty well there. Have you played Poland?
Albeer - We played in Poland for the first time in 2024. Great people. We hope to return to Poland soon. There are a lot of ska bands in Poland. We wrote about the amazing Polish ska scene in a fanzine in France.
Alan – Please, how do you deal with the situation when the club has a small stage? Do you divide the sector?
Albeer - It doesn’t matter if it’s small clubs or small stages, because we only have five musicians on stage. It’s not a problem... we play on the dance floor when possible, as close to our fans as possible!
Alan – What is your relationship with the Czech Republic? What are your connections? Are you planning to move here?
Albeer - I love the Czech Republic because the people are amazing, because you have the best beer in the world, because we love food, especially goulash!!!! And I am interested in the history and culture of Europe, the Czech Republic has an important role in the roots of our culture... (that's why we sing Golem Ska... a tribute to Czech culture). I'm sorry, but my Czech is not very good. I know maybe one or two words: BEER and Dobrý den, maybe?

Alan – Do you know Czech or Slovak bands? Golemska?
Albeer - In the Czech Republic we know Pirates of the Pub (celtic punk); Skavare (ska from Pilsen, very nice people, friends forever, we help each other with organizing concerts...) You can find Czech lyrics and vocals on our album CHECK POINT (I'll give you one) with the members of Skavare. I don't know any Slovak bands... unfortunately.
Alan – We will probably see each other in Klatovy. What will you surprise us with?
Albeer - Of course we are preparing some surprises for Klatovy... maybe a special guest for these two concerts... but I won't reveal anything, my friend...
Alan – Thanks for the interview, a month will fly by.
Albeer - Thank you very much, Alan, for your interest in BeerBeer. I apologize if my English is not quite right. Let me know if you want more information. I look forward to meeting you in a few days!!!
